We are beginning our second year at LNMS. To date, we have been very happy and satisfied with all elements of the school experience including our relationships with the instructors. At the start of this second year, however, we ran into a problem and really needed help with a scheduling issue. I would like to share with other parents that what we saw was a caring, smart, excellent team communicating and working together for the benefit of the student. I am in the business of delivering exceptional client experiences and that is exactly what this staff delivered to our family. They worked together and created a solution almost right away. Kudos to the leadership team at LNMS. Thank you for your hard work and commitment to making a difference.

New to the school this year and my son doesn't seem to like it not happy when he comes home and doesn't seem to think the kids are friendly... no peer council to help the new kids to adjust one for all at this school

I am excited for the 2014-2015 school year to begin. The administrative team and staff are extremely supportive of students. Academically, the school continues to demonstrate strong gains. The principal is amazing and extremely professional.

Lake Nona Middle School is committed to academic success for all of their students. Mr. Martinez, the school principal puts students, parents, and out community first. My wife and I are extremely happy to have our children attend this school. We love living in this area and are happy to have recently moved here.

Assistant principle/Dean of 8th grade rules everything with a one-set mind. No matter how minor or major the infraction it is a one-size-fits-all mentality with him. Show him the actual code of conduct regulations and the flexibilities built within and you will be greeted with a look of complete ignorance. Power tripping to a degree I've never encountered in a professional environment. He really needs to go back to just being a sports coach and leave the academic and administrative pursuits to those who are actually capable of critical thinking.

This was my child's first year in middle school. Overall this school is a pretty good school. Safety is not a concern at this school. Love the AllStars after school program. My only complaint has to do with some of the six grade teachers that seem to not care when it comes to students who need a little extra help academically. If you have a "A" student who picks up material quickly then you won't have any issues. There are a good batch of teachers that are willing to put forth the effort into guiding those who need a little extra help. However, there are others that seem to get annoyed when you ask for their help with your child.. It was very frustrating dealing with teachers who made it apparent that it was such a bother for them to put forth the extra effort to see their student/my child succeed in their class academically.

This is my child's second year at this school, and I couldn't be happier with it! She has wonderful teachers and is even taking classes for high school credit. The incidents that happened the first year at the school were blown completely out of proportion, gossip spreads like wildfire! Remember the telephone game?

weak principal, poor leadership. Value sports over academics. Band is awful. Beautiful building but what is inside is not all it could be.

We recently moved to the Lake Nona area and I have to say that the school is very well equiped and staff are great. I communicate with my son's teachers constantly through e-mail and they always respond. My son feels safe and stays engaged through different projects and online assignments, which is preparing him for college.

"The students and faculty both suffer from poor administrative leadership and ability." I totally agree with what the reviewer stated. The faculty is the worst I have ever dealt with. Completely unfair, disorganized, and unprofessional. And the Assistant Principals have a lot to do with it, which falls back on the responsibility of the Principal. I believe the school board should complete some type of internal investigation at the school and closely examine the leadership of the staff school. Despite completing it's first year, it may already be time to clean house and bring in more competent staff. Do not send your child to this school.

Very disappointed with the lack of communication by this school, whether during the "fight week" incident and now the drinking on campus incident. My older child had a great experience when the school was on campus with the high school, but since moving to the new location, everything has gone downhill. I was never as concerned for my child's overall safety and well-being as I am now. I hope these issues are addressed and resolved before something on a larger scale occurs.

This is the worst school my chldren have ever attended. 35 kids were just suspended from school for drinking liquor in the cafeteria over a two day period. The bottle was never recovered and no blood alcohol tests were ever obtained. They basically just suspended 35 kids because of a facebook posting and after coercing them to admit that they had a half gallon of liquor and were doing shots during lunch for two days. The Principal is incompetent and it reflects on the entire staff. Guidance counselors are inexperienced and administrators are apethetic. The guidance counselors are barely out of college and speak to parents in a condescending manner, as if they have more children and grandchildren that I do! Due to the lack of discipline and guidance from the school staff as a whole, the student body is littered disrespectful undisciplined students. Suspensions are handed out like apple juice & carrotts were in elementary. None of the kids care anymore because it is easier to just skip school for the day than it is to go to school and get kicked out by such an incompetent staff.

This is the first year of this school and I'm very happy with the results, I can't complain.. negative things happen as in other schools but they take care immediately and so far everything is going well. The communication with the teachers is excellent. Hopefully a lot better next year.
