Very disappointed that I transferred my child to this school. I have no way of knowing how he is doing except by ProgressBook. The problem is that the teacher does not put in grades regularly, so at the end of the first quarter I am now discovering (via a website and not the teacher) that he is failing in many areas. That is a true testimony of the school system letting a child fall through the cracks. And I second the previous comment...if your child is not an academic achiever the school does not want them.

Absolutely horrible! It's funny how they always say, "Communication between the parent and the teacher is important." Yet some of the teachers at this school do not want to communicate with the parent. How am I supposed to ensure that my child gets the wants-to-communicate-openly teacher every year? Why is it that we were not informed about Open House until the day of? How much damage needs to be done to my child's education BEFORE I get contacted by the teacher? And yes, the principal is more concerned with reputation rather than helping students get the education they need.

This school has several amazing teachers and yes teachers that don't put too much effort. I will say that the new principal has taken an active role in trying to change the school to be the best performing school all around. My son just finished 5th grade and I can honestly say that the new principal is making major changes to set high standards academically for all students. I feel that when I had concerns about teachers, she took an active role to remedy the situation. Even though there are teachers that didn't do their best, I can honestly say that there are many that put their heart and soul into their job. I can't wait to see all the great outcomes of this new principal.

My sons teacher in 5th grade allowed him to just sit at his desk and do nothing because he had passable grades on tests. This left my son to be set up for failure at his new school where the teacher would not just let him sit at his desk and do nothing. I cannot believe this has happened to my family. This is the worst school I have ever experienced in my life. My son has suffered psychologically, emotionally, and even physically in academics while attending this school. No one really cares. They just push the kids through the grades and pass the kids, Rotten and Lazy teacher!

Our daughter just started kindergarten this year and had a hard time adapting to all of the change...this school and its faculty have been absolutely amazing! Communication is great, patience and positivity have been just amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this school and the teachers. I do wish they had more extracurricular after school activities...my daughter has now adapted and loves going to school!

Great school. My kindergartner was very well looked after. They run a tight ship and seem very well organized.

Worst elementary school ever. The Principle truthfully could care less about your child if it affects her schools' reputation. BEWARE!

WCES has some very good teachers.the principal runs a tight ship.she is very concerned about the students and is present at every event, whether on school property or at community functions involving students from her school.she is also responsive to parent concerns.

We moved 2 years ago from California and this is like being at a privite school with out the fees. Very caring teachers. My kids can't wait for vacation to be over just to get back to school. They love the school. My husband works 2 hours away and we didn't relocate just because of the school. Not knowing the area moving from California I'm so glad that we found this school. Thank you West Creek.

I think West Creek is a very good school. Dr. Fritzler has always treated me with respect and I believe she has done an excellent job. Two of my children have studied there and I am pleased with WCE. I can't say all the teachers are good unfortunately (as anywhere else), but some of them are excellent, like Miss Koza or Mr Elliot who is the best teacher my children have had so far.

Not at all parent friendly. I received a horrible welcome the first time I brought my girl to school. I just wanted to walk her to her class and see where she studied and was denied access....even though it was my first visit....the leaders are very cold and impersonal. I had to leave her in tears.

I think West Creek E.S. is a top notch school, but it could be better under different leadership. There has been way too much staff turn over.

West Creek is one of the best elementary schools I have ever encountered. In many ways, it functions more like a private school than a public school. Dr. Fritzler knows each and every child's name and their parents in the entire school. Every child is assessed individually and given the appropriate curriculum they need. In one classroom, you could have several different students working at different levels in the same subject. Classroom placement is decided by what is best for the individual child. Great care is taken to make sure each classroom has the make-up to ensure academic success for all. Dr. Fritzler's policy is requests aren't necessary because great care is taken with classroom placements. However, with Dr. Fritzler's open door policy, she will always listen to any parents requests or concerns. West Creek has the best administration and faculty I have ever encountered.

West Creek has the potential to be a great school if the leadership team could learn to stand up to the parents. There are too many PTA/volunteer moms spending each and every day in the classrooms. It is not good for their children or ours. Parental involvement is good but parental obsession is not healthy! The impact of this can be seen by looking at the make up of the classroom. Dr. Fritzler please place the students based on their needs not their parents. They all count on you!
