The school was a little overcrowded but thanks to the new just opened SunBlaze elementary close by just absorbed a big parcel of students leaving Northlake Park as always, just the best in Orlando. And the good thing is, as LakeNona grows and since this is a master plan, they have already 3 "A" rated elementary schools: moss park elementary, SunBlaze elementary and North Lake Park, and they are already planning the newest addition to the community, that probably will be called the LakeNona Elementary close to Laureate Park and maybe within the Eagle Creek neighborhood. We have our four kids enrolled here and we love the staff and the school structure just much better than any other in Orlando at all, and proud of being part of the history writing since lakenona is already the smartest community in central florida already and we will make any effort to keep up the standards.

They try, but the bottom line is this school feels overcrowded and cold. They offer no languages, enrichment courses, or extra curricular activities, unless it's YMCA sports related. I also agree with below statements about the security and the gym open to all during school. There are no creative fundraisers. There is a lack of organization. Lack of parents participating in kids activities leaving only a few to carry all the weight, whether it's school supplies or school projects. We will be moving out of this location for her 3rd grade. We believe this area is becoming overcrowded and overall degrading as it grows.

That is the Best School in Central Florida, where you can see very famous people around because it serves the best gated Community in the area. The LakeNona Golf and Country Club, the staff are just the best. We thank them every day for the wonderful care with our kids.

I am considering a move the neighborhood and Northlake Park is the assigned school. I called reception and asked if I could see the school and was transferred to an Assistant Principal's voicemail and did not get the courtesy of any reply at all.

My kids attended NLP from K-5th and I am very happy with the education they received. My oldest is finishing middle school and she came out well prepared for all the demands of her advanced and honors courses in another school. The teachers they both have had were all excellent. They all went above and beyond for all their students. However, I am concerned that although parents are welcomed, there is some kind of preferential treatment for a group of parents. Seems when there is an issue with their kids, the administration bends over backwards to make those parents happy, regardless of the consequences. But when is another group of parents who are not happy, the same treatment is not granted. I also have an issue with discipline. If there is a child that has a major behavioral issue why is that child not removed from the room immediately? Seems to me that the whole class suffers because of the ONE child. The teacher must be overwhelmed when there is not a lot of outside support with these situations. I understand these kids have special needs and benefit from a regular classroom, but the effect on the majority of the kids should not be overlooked.

This may be a good school, but when the children fail the FCAT in reading and passes with excellent grades in all other subjects there's is a problem. And if you ask the teacher why? and tell you "I don't know", its a big disappointment.

I am very happy with this school. Teachers are excellent on meeting the curriculum. My daughter did very good during the whole year and passed the FCAT. For me this means they did their job. The staff is very friendly. I love having lunch with my daughter whenever I'm off work. Few things I don't like, it's what they offer for lunch. Their food does not taste good. The other thing, it's that my daughter told me they had recess once a week. She finished 3rd grade.

Great school and teachers, but extremely high frequency of fundraising efforts in this bad economy. Seems like every few weeks.

I love this school. My kids go to Moss Park Elementary now, which I hate. NLP is so much better, truly friendly administration! The car line and the way they actually teach the curriculum, and pay attention to the students is amazing! Hopefully get to have my kids back there next year!! If you have a choice over the two schools, do yourself a favor and pick Northlake Park!!

I totally agree with both posts below. The lack of after school program is really the only bad thing I can say about the school. My daughter has been here for 2 years and absolutely loves the school but the YMCA before & after school program are SO expensive! She attended the program for about 2 months, because I was on bed rest, and we had to withdraw her from the program b/c it was just more than we could afford.

I wish they offered an after school program other than the YMCA which is very expensive esspecially when I have not intentions on using the YMCA for anything other than the after school program.

This is a wonderful school. My son has received a grade 'a' education. But I do not like the fact that the school does not offer any afterschool activities other than the YMCA., which is very expensive.
